YIKES is thrash 'n' roll chaos straight out of San Francisco - a trio consisting of John Dwyer (Pink & Brown, Ziegenbock Kopf, Coachwhips, OCS, Thee Oh Sees) on guitar and vocals, Eric Park (Curse of the Birthmark) on second guitar and Mike Donovon (Big Techno Werewolves, Sic Alps) on drums.

Formed when Dwyer called an end to Coachwhips to try something new, something more fun and explosive in nature, Yikes play the kind of music that feels as though it could all fall apart at any moment, with its distorto wails, galloping drums and demented six-stringed shred.

'Secrets to Superflipping' is Yikes' debut release and it's a gleeful assault of ripping distortion and hypnotic melodies. Side A documents five studio recordings, made under the watchful eye of Weasel Walter, while Side B holds four prime cuts from a typically riotous live show, offering a tantalising glimpse at the raw fury and power that Yikes possess in the flesh.

"Cars" is garage in slo-mo, teaming up police-siren guitar lines, with Dwyer's trademark fuzzed-up bawl and motorik toms that thump on like they could all night. On "Putrifiers" the howls are strewn with delay, and ping-pong off walls of guitar scree, as the drums continue to pound despite the chaos around them. "Pink Cigars" is a rutting pool of garage gloop, stammering on triumphantly before twisting into "Troubles", which thunders like a scuzzy heartbeat, punctuated by Dwyer's freaked guitar mangle and distinctive caterwaul.
