NEW DISPLAY STRATEGIES will present 'Art in the service of interdependence'. Taken from the idea of Art in the service of the revolution, the artists re-present Russian constructivist theatre design as sophisticated propaganda.
EDDIE PEAKE & PAUL SIMON RICHARDS will be presenting a new video performance that draws links between the beautiful horrors of the body as explored in Shakespearean tragedy and YouTube dance instruction videos. These bodies take the form of characters and objects as well as media languages such as television sitcom and football.
DANIELLE DEAN works with bright colours and sculptural forms, real or imagined, to explore contemporary ideas of race and social difference. She will be collaborating with photographer, Theo Cook, to create images with reference to a variety of media - science fiction, advertising and pornography.
JULIA CRABTREE & WILLIAM EVANS build consuming sets with reclaimed materials. They will present experiments with found footage and outmoded display equipment.
LUCKYPDF will specially construct a television station, shortcast inside the Auto-Italia building and streamed online, with live transmissions throughout the weekend.
RACHAL BRADLEY is producing a giant cape costume, which the drummers of different bands will physically inhabit. Huge arrows create an energy flow towards the performers with the force field marked out by crystals harnessing all of the nest energy in the world.p>
RUTH EDWARDS is making a celebratory monument. Suspended above the bands as they play, it will depict imagined interactions between the different groups and people involved throughout the weekend. To mark this occasion she will also be releasing a flock of Doves in the park across the road from Auto-Italia.
ROSIE COOPER is working with one of the significant characters from her multi-part epic 'Dress Rehearsal for a Stage Show' as the face of an unofficial merchandise line.
